CARASOL? adsorbents are a range of natural, harmless but potent granular materials produced from waste derived from the food industry. CARASOL? is able to trap a very wide variety of different contaminating molecules by virtue of a unique combination of both physical (physisorptive) and biochemical (chemisorptive) trapping. These two mechanisms work in synergy to provide a very efficient and versatile trapping process.
The raw material for CARASOL? granular adsorbent is a clean waste residue from a specific food manufacturing process and is classed as a renewable resource. The adsorbents are completely biodegradable and biocompatible with landfill. Spent CARASOL? may also be incinerated at high temperatures if it has been used to trap very toxic molecules such as dioxins.
The versatility of CARASOL? embraces acid gases, oxides of sulphur, mercaptans, hydrogen sulphide, dimethyl sulphoxide, dioxins, HCI/HF, VOCs and volatile metals. Because of the duel trapping mechanisms involved CARASOL? will trap both water-soluble and fat-soluble gaseous contaminants.
